I love old tournament books. Two most obvious examples are Bronstein’s Zurich Interzonal 1953 and Tal’s book on his match vs Botvinnik.

The Zurich International Tournament 1953 was the second Candidates’ Tournament of the World Chess Federation FIDE and took place from 29 August to 24 October in Zurich and Neuhausen as a double round-robin tournament with fifteen participants.
